I like solving for complexity
"I've spent 20 years reducing complexity" is how this page used to start, until I noticed how many people say the same thing and began to wonder whether it means anything at all.
Complexity does not really go away: if I keep it out of the system, it lands on the people who use it, and if I absorb it on their behalf, my team has to carry it instead, so pretending to remove it only means that someone else pays for it, because people, businesses and the questions they bring are complicated by nature.
A more honest version is that for 20 years I have been learning to balance complexity rather than fight it, which in practice means owning a product or a process and then sharing that ownership with the team, since nobody carries it alone.
Then AI showed up in my world and made turning ideas into products so much easier that I finally finished some old pet projects to the point where I am happy to share them, and started a few new ones; at the same time it made the products themselves more complex and changed the whole playing field, so the question of how to balance complexity has to be answered again from scratch.
